Ya hemos recibido algunas novedades de Gaerne y Catlike en nuestra tienda. En breve os colgaré unas fotos.

And finally I assembled my new custom HeliumY por fin monté my Helium custom

After about 10 days since the frame arrived, I was able to have some time to assemble my custom Helium. Ridley did a fantastic job (as allways) wit the paintjob. I just had to tune up some parts as the shifters (white hoods) or make the SRAM Red become a SRAM Blue...

Después de casi diez días desde que llegó el cuadro encontré algo de tiempo para poder montar my Helium custom. Ridley hizo un trabajo fantástico (como siempre) con la pintura. Yo solo tuve que personalizar algunas piezas como las manetas, con gomas blancas o transformar el SRAM Red en un SRAM Blue...

SRAM Blue launchingPresentación SRAM Blue

Here you are the new SRAM Blue that I have customized for my new Helium (will post pics shortly). I just sticked some blue vynil over the origial red paint.

Aquí os presento el nuevo SRAM Blue, que he personalizado para mi nueva Ridley Helium (ya os pondré fotos en breve). Simplemente he pegado vinilo azul sobre la serigrafía roja original del grupo.

Well, the resto continues and the frame is already primered. I show you how it looked in bare metal, after oxide converter applied and after primer (oh! Well sanded and cleaned in between each process).

Some drops that I had to remove.




Wet sandind (1000) to remove the drops. You have to spent some time with it to have a good result...


Smooth!







I gess the body shop will appreciate this work done before they will paint it!!










Bueno, la restauración de la bici de Iñaki sigue su curso y el cuadro ya está imprimado y listo para pintura. Os pongo fotos d e cómo estaba al desnudo, con el convertidor de óxido y finalmente imprimado (con lijado y limpieza entre cada proceso).

Lija de agua (1000) para quitar las gotas. Hay que lijar un rato para conseguir un buen resultado...

Well, more updates about the BH. After cleaning the frame, rack and chainguard with high presure water, I brush everything to remove the rests of paint that are still there.





Lovely colour!





After wirebrush, Oxide Converter. It makes the reaction with the rust and convert it to a basecoat where you can paint straight over it. Anyway I'll sand it again and spray another basecoat.



The reaction makes it turn dark purple. That means that is working properly.Una actualización más del trabajo en la BH. Tras limpiar el cuadro, el portabultos y el protector de cadena con agua a (muy) alta presión, me he dedicado a cepillarlos con el cepillo de acero y así eliminar los restos de suciedad, pintura y óxido que aún quedaban.




Un color fantástico!




Después del cepillado, convertidor de óxido. El convertidor reacciona con el óxido y crea una capa de imprimación sobre la que se puede aplicar la pintura directamente. Aún y así, lo lijaré de nuevo y aplicaré otra capa de imprimación antes de la pintura final.


La reacción provoca que se vuelva color morado. Eso significa que está trabajando correctamente.
